2015

We hired two vegetation specialists in January, 2015, to conduct a vegetation survey around a section of the creek (between Lowes Rd. and where Chum Creek crosses Chum Creek Rd. near Old Chum Creek Rd.) and to train interested Chum Creek Landcare members how to identify weed and indigenous species, and how to conduct and interpret riparian vegetation surveys. The field work for this was completed in January, being ably assisted by a Green Army team, a report was produced and distributed to landowners and relevant government departments, and a workshop to discuss the results of the survey was held in July, 2015.

2016

In January and February, 2016, the creek and vegetation survey continued, completing the section upstream from the Chum Creek road bridge. This section is notable for the number of large trees and generally healthy riparian forest. Results of this survey were presented at this year's AGM in August and a report for the 2016 survey is now available. If you wish to obtain a copy of this year's or last year's reports, please email us.

2017

In January and February, 2017, the last and downstream section of Chum Creek, from Lowes Rd. to near where it joins Watts River, was surveyed. Results of this survey are also available and can be obtained by emailing us.
